The ViiV Healthcare Positive Action Australia Community Grants invites non government and community based organisations in order to support their work with PLHIV or people at risk of HIV.
The Australia grants program provides grants to non government/community based organisations that deliver services or undertake activities that support and improve the lives of PLHIV or people at risk of HIV.
Priority Areas
- Supporting the aging PLHIV
Projects that:- Engage with the older population of PLHIV to address their key unmet needs
- Aim to improve the quality of life of older PLHIV
- Putting PLHIV at the heart of services
Projects that:- Seek to identify and address the social, environmental and individual obstacles that have an impact on quality of life for PLHIV
- Reach out and engage PLHIV who don’t normally access services
- Enhanced quality of life for PLHIV
Projects that:- Seek to identify and address the social, environmental and individual obstacles that have an impact on quality of life for PLHI
- Stigma and discrimination
Projects that:- Develop and demonstrate effective methods to address stigma, produce outcomes and allow for replication
Funds Available
A total of AU$180,000 will be awarded to organisations for the 2016 grants cycle.
Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must meet the following Eligibility Criteria to apply for grants:
- Be a charity, non-government or community based organisation with a focus (>75%) on HIV and PLHIV
- Meets all the legal requirements expected of a non-government or community based organisation in Australia
- Actively engages, collaborates and advocates with people living with HIV
Ineligible Projects
The ViiV Healthcare Positive Action Community Grants Program will not fund the following:
- Retrospective project expenditures
- Overseas travel costs
- On-going operational, capital works or facilities maintenance costs
- Purchase of equipment that incurs ongoing maintenance costs
- Competitions, prizes, profit making, or fundraising activities
- Projects that seek funding in excess of 25% of overall organisational income
