The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) is seeking applications for Gender Responsive Policy and Practices (GRPPA) Virtual Training on Model and Site Implementation 2021.
The GRPPA model was designed for agencies to internally review and observe policy, practice and programming to gauge current and/or future capacity to deliver research based gender-responsive services for justice involved women.
Goals
Through the activities of this solicitation, the agency teams will be actively engaged – having worked through the GRPPA model and developed an action plan through training, limited coaching and support to implement gender-responsive policy, practice and programing to improve outcomes for justice involved women.
Objectives
Awardee will:
- Awardee becomes knowledgeable and conversant on all aspects of the GRPPA model, to include its development and application.
- Awardee will work with NIC Project Manager to select participants and agency teams (if not already selected by NIC) guided by eligibility criteria.
- Awardee will works with NIC Project Manager to virtually prepare and engage participant teams in the training of the GRPPA model.
- Awardee will work with selected teams in implementing the full model – from the development of agency working groups through to the action planning phase.
- Awardee will provide time-limited support and coaching to teams (up to 8 hours), who have demonstrated readiness, in taking advantage of agency opportunities and working through challenges in implementing prioritized aspects of the action planning process.
Deliverables
The NIC project manager will be involved in the following aspects of the cooperative agreement:
- Provide overall oversight and project management, working collaboratively with awardee on all aspects of the project
- Serves as a project subject matter expert
- Approval of any materials in addition to the application of the GRPPA
- Final approval of training dates, participants and agency teams
Funding Information
NIC expects to make one award for as much as 55,000.00 for a 12-month project period.
Eligibility Criteria
NIC invites applications from nonprofit organizations (including faith-based, community, and tribal organizations), for-profit organizations (including tribal for-profit organizations), and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education). Recipients, including for-profit organizations, must agree to waive any profit or fee for services. NIC welcomes applications that involve two or more entities; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the others must be proposed as sub recipients.
