EU Call for Proposals: NGO Support to 11th EDF Agriculture for Economic Growth and Food Security/Nutrition to Mitigate Migration Programme in Gambia

The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for a program entitled “NGO support to the 11th EDF Agriculture for Economic Growth and Food Security/Nutrition to mitigate migration programme in The Gambia” to contribute to sustainable growth in the agricultural sector and reduce food insecurity and malnutrition to mitigate migration flows to Europe.

Lots & Objectives

  • Lot 1: Agro-ecology and eco-restoration
    • To strengthen women farmers and rural youth capacities in climate SMART agriculture comprising support to farmer learning and demo centres employing climate-sensitive approaches such as agro-ecology and eco-restoration.
  • Lot 2: Market access and value chains
    • To offer women and youth smallholders better market access through development of value chain opportunities.
  • Lot 3: Access to quality food
    • To facilitate access to diversified and quality nutritious, traditional foods (moringa, sweet potatoes, pulses, fruits and vegetables and honey, etc) in vulnerable rural households.

Size of Grants

Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 250,000 and EUR 750,000.

Eligibility Criteria

  • In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
    • be a legal person and
    • be non-profit-making and
    • be a non-governmental organisation as defined by Article 43 of the Rules of application of the EU Financial Regulation. and
    • be established in a Member State of the European Union or The Gambia. and
    • be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
  • Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants if they are in any of the situations
  • The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies) are not in any of these situations.
  • The lead applicant must act with co-applicant(s) as specified hereafter.
  • If awarded the grant contract, the lead applicant will become the beneficiary identified as the Coordinator.The Coordinator is the main interlocutor of the Contracting Authority. It represents and acts on behalf of any other co-beneficiary (if any) and coordinate the design and implementation of the action.

Eligible Countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, the UK and Gambia.
