Deadline: 13 June 2019
The ICIP is calling for nominations for the ninth edition of the ICIP Peace in Progress Award to publicly recognize individuals, entities or institutions that, in an outstanding and extensive manner, have worked and contributed to the promotion and building of peace.
The ICIP Peace in Progress Award 2019 consists of an honorary distinction, public recognition, a sculpture created by Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Nobel Peace Prize winner, and a 6,000€ reward.
The Jury of the ICIP Peace in Progress Award will be made up of the members of the Governing Board of ICIP.
- Eligible for this Award are natural and non-profit legal persons from around the world that have made an outstanding contribution to the construction and promotion of peace throughout their career or concrete actions.
- No award will be granted posthumously.
- Any natural or legal person can submit nominations to the ICIP Peace in Progress Award, but no one can nominate itself. Applications where the nominator and the nominee are the same will be excluded. Notwithstanding, applications in which the proposing organization or institution maintains or has maintained a relationship with the nominee will be accepted.
- Nominations that were not successful in previous editions may be submitted again this year.
When deciding upon which nominate is to be granted the ICIP Award, the Jury will particularly value the following aspects:
The merits of the nominee based on the required documentation submitted and, if applicable, on additional publicly available documentation compiled by ICIP.
The prolonged engagement and strong commitment of the nominee in the construction and promotion of peace at an international, national or local level.
