UNDP/Liberia Call for Proposals: Seeking Applications for Civil Society Grants Programme

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking applications for its Civil Society Grants Programme to support for Presidential and Representative Elections Public Outreach.

Objectives

The objective of this CFP is to support CSOs to undertake the following:

  • Carry out awareness program to increase voter participation in the 2017 Presidential and Representative Elections process; Enable voters to understand the importance of voting; link the outcome of voting with the development agenda;
  • Carry out innovative strategies which take into consideration women’s limited time; avoiding long distances to the events; development of messages which are relevant to the needs of women; eventually, enable women’s participation in the CVE; while enabling them to balance their multiple roles played at household and community levels;
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders including first time voters, traditional leaders, community chiefs, women, youth and persons with disabilities;
  • Conduct face to face interactions;
  • Conduct town hall meetings, open air dramas, sporting events;
  • Town crier engagements;
  • Distribute motivational and awareness materials for a better understanding of the 2017 Presidential and Representative Elections process. This includes the dissemination of posters, flyers, brochures, stickers, banners, etc.

Funding Information

Proposals amounts should range from a minimum of USD$35,000 to a maximum of USD$ 50,000.

Eligibility Criteria

Grants will be awarded to organizations based on the following considerations:

  • Whether the CSO is registered in Liberia with Office in Monrovia and/or the counties;
  • The overall objectives, strategy, and expected results of the project aim to promote the participation of marginalized groups; promote gender equality in elections; the geographical scope and span of its activities; and the types of interactions with beneficiaries envisaged for the project; Operating in geographical locations with least organizations supporting election activities;
  • The institutional capacity of the CSO should include gender capacity/ skills in promoting women’s participation;
  • The legitimacy and quality of the contribution and values that the CSO can provide for the attainment of development results and maximizing the development impact of a programme/project; and
  • Whether it specifically works with women, men, traditional leaders and youth.
