The British Embassy in Baghdad is accepting concept notes for the financial year 2017-18 under Rules-Based International System Fund and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) Programme Funding.
Priorities & Grant Size
- Develop understanding of the attitudes specific sectors of the community have towards victims of sexual and gender based violence in conflict in particular those groups who have contact with survivors e.g. Police, lawyers/judges, healthcare providers. In addition to improve understanding and share knowledge of actions and activities undertaken by Government, NGOs and donors to address sexual violence in conflict. Increase awareness of and capacity in building use of the International Protocol on documenting and investigating sexual violence. – Up to £100,000
- Increase understanding and knowledge across government departments in Baghdad and KRG on Iraqi National Action Plan to implement UNSCR1325 and gender issues. With focus on increased female participation, particularly in reconciliation efforts and steps to address the impact of current violence and discrimination against women. – Up to £50,000
- Greater involvement and acceptance of female participation in national and local Iraqi-led reconciliation initiatives, particularly important in Ninewa as operations in Mosul are taken forward. Greater role of women in peace negotiations at all level (community, governorate and national). Female participants to achieve greater skills to have more confidence and competency during negotiations etc.– Up to £40,000
- Improve capacity to respond and engage with International Treaties and Human Rights Mechanisms and improves domestic human rights through better implementation of international human rights obligations.– Up to £30,000
Duration
Project budgets should be for a single year for activities undertaken over the period April 2017 to March 2018.
