UNDP Request for Proposals: HIV Grant 2017 Adolescent Girls and Young Women Sub-Recipient

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking proposals from registered institution in Zimbabwe with demonstrated experience to serve as a Sub-Recipient to coordinate and manage the implementation of the Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) activities of the new 3-Year Global Fund grant (2018-2020).

The Global Fund HIV grant is supporting core interventions modified from the DREAMS package, applied to 4 additional districts outside of PEPFAR support (Chimanimani, Mguza, Kwekwe and Umzingwane) identified based on Zimbabwe’s hot spot analysis. This package will include health, education and social protection enablers with a focus on vulnerable AGYW aged 10-24.

The overall objectives of the Global Fund financed HIV grant is to contribute to the achievement of the goals, objectives and results of the Zimbabwe National AIDS Strategic Plan.

The goal of this grant is to improve wellbeing and healthy lives for all population groups through universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services.

Objectives

  • To reduce HIV incidence among adults and adolescents reduced by 50% from 0.48% in 2013 to 0.24 % by 2020
  • To reduce new HIV infections among children to less than 50 cases per 100 000 by 2020
  • To reduce HIV/AIDS-related mortality by 50% for both adults and children by 2020

Expected Outputs

The programme activities are linked to the overall Project grant deliverables and contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of the ZNASP III. The selected SR is expected to achieve the assigned targets set in the Performance Framework and to ensure timely completion of the agreed upon activities in the approved Work Plan and Budget Work Plan as per the SR Agreement. In addition, the SR is expected to accomplish regular coordination and collaboration activities with national stakeholders to support improvement in the national HIV response for AGYWs.

All legally registered organizations and civil society in Zimbabwe are eligible to apply.
