UNDP: Call for “NGO Raising Awareness on Fake News Having Impact on Social Cohesion and Human Rights” Programme

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Lebanon is seeking proposals from National NGOs for a program entitled “NGO Raising awareness on fake news having impact on social cohesion and human rights” to support different groups, from local leaders to educators, youth, media professionals, journalists and civil society activists, in developing both medium and long-term strategies for peace building, crisis management and conflict prevention.

The UNDP Peace Building Project is announcing a Call for Proposals to solicit proposals from national NGOs interested in projects that fall under Media and Peace Building.


  • Countering disinformation campaigns spread on social media platforms in Lebanon;
  • Offering hate-free and human rights based videos depicting “fake news”;
  • Improve media literacy and public education of “fake news”

Grant Information

UNDP is allocating a total all-inclusive1 budget of 55,000 USD for this assignment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The parameters that will determine whether a NGO is eligible to be considered by UNDP will be based on the NGO Simplified Capacity Assessment for engagement in a humanitarian context template (SCAN) and its related supporting documents.
  • Final Beneficiaries: Eligible proposals will be those focused on Media and Peace Building in Lebanon and targeting Media institutions and Media practitioners as the direct and final beneficiaries.
