The Mental Health Month is offering grants to help local ACT groups and organisations host a mental health focused event during Mental Health Week.
The scope of Mental Health Month events is limited only by your imagination and enthusiasm!
Events should seek to maximise the wellbeing of individuals and the wider community and promote positive mental health.
Objectives
- To raise community awareness and understanding of mental health
- To reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health conditions
- To promote positive mental, physical, social and spiritual health and wellbeing in the community
- To encourage people to seek help and practice self-care
- To provide information about mental health and wellbeing and increase awareness of local services.
Aims
- They aim to offer a diverse events program, catering to all sub-groups of the community.
- They must be inclusive for a range of people, including:
- lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex and asexual (LGBTQIA+) people
- Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander peoples
- people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds
- young people (including school and university-based activities)
- adults aged over 65 years
- children of parents affected by a mental illness
- people with a disability
- other isolated or at-risk groups.
Funding Information
You can apply for any funding amount up to $5000 (GST inclusive).
Eligibility Criteria
- Any community-based group or organisation, charity, school, university or faith-based group within or outside of the mental health sector can apply for a reimbursement grant.
- Government agencies and private sector businesses are ineligible to apply for a grant, but they still encourage you to host and register an event during Mental Health Month ACT.
- Government agencies and private sector businesses are ineligible for grant funding.
