The Barnet Together partnership is pleased to be able to bring to the VCFSE Sector in Barnet the Main Grant Fund for 2022 of £300,000 to support the sector in Barnet support the communities it serves, especially focused on the Cost of Living Crisis and Covid recovery.
Supports
- This can be in the form of providing support to the following types of projects aimed at supporting the community across Barnet;
- Meet emerging need
- Upscale of an existing project with proven track record to support the community response to the crisis
- Develop emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Enhance social inclusion
- Set up a project which supports residents’ recovery from the pandemic and current Cost of Living Crisis – eg a food cooperative
- Local spaces which provide targeted activities and initiatives to residents, specifically warm spaces initiatives as we head into winter. Must have a community space / office if applying for operational support
- Warm clothing and school uniform banks for children and families.
- Blankets and wellbeing packs for those most in need.
- Additional Cost of Living advice support
- Training volunteers to support residents with basic budgets
- The panel will consider applications that are not named above but support residents with the Cost of Living Crisis
Funding Information
- Organisations are invited to apply for either:
- Up to £1,000 – via the small award.Or
- Between £7,000 and £10,000 – via the large award
Eligibility Criteria
- This fund is open to Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise organisations (VCFSE) operating within the London Borough of Barnet.
- Individuals cannot apply for the grant.
- Applicants must be a voluntary and community sector organisation, as for example defined by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations:
- Applicants must have a bank account in the name of the organisation or group which requires at least two joint signatories (who are not related), for all transactions.
- Applicants must have the necessary systems, policies and procedures in place that fulfil legal requirements e.g. accounts, health and safety, equal opportunities, insurance, safeguarding etc (these requirements will be checked as part of the application process).
- All staff working to deliver the project must be DBS checked and organisations must follow strong safeguarding procedures as detailed in their safeguarding policy.
- Applicants should already be operating within the London Borough of Barnet, with a track record of local delivery, as this fund is helping to address the impacts of the Cost-of-Living crisis locally and as such applicants will need that local footprint.
