The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is now inviting proposals from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and intergovernmental organization (IGOs).
The project should support Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry – Climate Change Management Department in integrating short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) within its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) implementation plan and greenhouse gas emission inventory process.

Outcomes
- Zimbabwe’s government has demonstrated improved capacity for SLCP action.
- Zimbabwe’s government secures catalysed funding for SLCP action.
- Zimbabwe’s government endorses a methane roadmap and a roadmap for the implementation of mitigation measures of the household energy sector
Required Outputs
- The project should deliver at a minimum:
- An updated SLCP analysis in key sectors (up to 2050) and assessment of the cost of implementing mitigation measures
- Implementation pathways/plans for priority SLCP measures (including those in the updated NDC)
- A portfolio of finance-ready projects for priority SLCP measures
- Training on monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) and transparency reporting and a plan for including SLCPs in these frameworks
- A methane roadmap in line with a modality agreed with the CCAC Secretariat that includes the waste, agriculture, and oil and gas sectors. The roadmap should build on the methane portion of the updated SLCP assessment.
- A roadmap for the implementation of mitigation measures of the household energy sector that includes developing implementation pathways, evaluating the multiple benefits, analysing the cost-benefit and developing a monitoring and evaluation framework for interventions in the sector.
- Applicants are encouraged to propose additional outputs as needed to ensure the expected project outcomes are achieved.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration, project proposals must meet the following requirements:
- Are complete and submitted before the deadline
- Are submitted by a non-governmental organization (NGO), intergovernmental organization (IGO), or other not-for-profit entity
- Requested funding falls within the indicated cost range and the project duration is less than 24 months
- Budget criteria are met and spending caps on expenses are respected
Evaluation Process
- A preliminary review of proposals submitted by the deadline will be conducted by members of the CCAC Secretariat, Funding Task Team and Board, in consultation with relevant CCAC Partners.
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present their proposals in further detail by 22 July 2022 and to respond to follow-up questions about their application.
- Shortlisted applicants will be informed of the final decision regarding their proposal by 31 August 2022. Successful applicants will be invited to develop a Project Implementation Plan and Detailed Budget in consultation with the CCAC Secretariat and relevant CCAC Partners.
