The Portsmouth City Council is seeking applications for its City Greening Fund.
The fund will provide grants for projects such as tree planting, planting for nature and biodiversity, and engaging the community with nature.
Objectives
The City Greening Fund is designed to support projects that aim to make Portsmouth a greener and healthier place. The council invites projects that deliver against Portsmouth City Council’s ‘Greening Strategy Objectives’:
- Increase tree canopy
- Respond to the climate emergency
- Plant for nature and increasing biodiversity
- Connect people with nature and community engagement
- Promote active travel
- Improve public spaces
Funding Information
- This new fund offers up to £5,000 for community groups and organisations greening projects.
Eligibility Criteria
Community groups or charities who apply for funding must provide the following to be considered:
- A constitution (or rules)
- Two quotes from suppliers – If you are seeking funding to purchase goods or equipment
- A bank account in the name of the organisation with a recent bank statement for evidence
- A policy describing how they will safeguard children, young people, and vulnerable adults
- Financial breakdown of full project costs
