The Communities Division of the ACT Community Services Directorate (CSD) is pleased to announce the availability of the 2022-23 Youth Grants.
Aims
- This Program aims to provide funding for projects that engage, connect and celebrate the diversity of young people in their community.
- The grants program also aims to engage and connect all young people aged 12 to 25 across the ACT community in projects, events and/or forums that enhances their wellbeing.
Priority Areas

The following priorities need to be addressed through the proposed project/activity:
- Young people aged 12 to 25 years are involved in the development and implementation of the project/event/activity
- Projects/events/activities promoting and celebrating young people’s diversity
- Projects/events/activities strengthening and building community connections.
Funding Information
- The total funding available for this program is $45,000.00 (excluding GST). $20,000 for Youth Week and $25,000 for Youth InterACT.
Funding Categories:
- Youth InterACT

Youth Week.
- Applicants can apply for a grant in both funding categories.
- The maximum grant that can be applied for is $2,000 per category (excluding GST).
- This value is for one project or initiative only and is non-recurring.
- Successful recipients must spend the grant within 12 months of receiving the grant.
- NOTE: Youth Week projects, events or activities must be delivered during Youth Week, 14 April 2023 to 21 April 2023.
What Types of Projects can receive Funding?

The grants can fund different types of projects like:
- Projects or events that strengthen community connection for young people such as arts-based projects, youth forums, skill development workshops and resilience-based projects.
- Projects or events that promote and celebrate the diversity of young people in the ACT during Youth Week.
- Community events that build connections between community members through sport, recreation, cultural and creative activities.
- Forums, projects, that increase awareness of issues affecting young people.
Eligibility Criteria

Previous recipients and outstanding acquittals
- New projects from last year’s recipients that involve partnerships or collaborations are eligible and encouraged.
- 2021-22 Youth InterACT and Youth Week grant recipients are eligible to apply.
- To be considered, applicants must have no overdue Acquittal Reports for any previous CSD grant.

Organisations

Organisations that want to apply must:
- Be a legally incorporated entity or supported by an incorporated auspicing organisation.
- Be a registered not-for-profit or a charitable organisation
- Have no overdue reporting obligations for any previous grants
- Be an educational institution (ACT Government school, independent school, private school, Catholic school, tertiary or vocational institution), the educational institution can be public, private or unconventional
- Hold appropriate insurance cover for the grant period. Insurances that may be required include Public Liability Insurance of no less than $10 million dollars, Personal Accident, Volunteer Cover or Directors Professional Indemnity. Evidence of insurance may be required as a condition of the grant.

- Live in the ACT
- Have not received funding from another source to deliver the same or similar project
- Have acquitted all previous grant funds
- If are under the age of 18 the application is signed by a parent, guardian or auspicing organisation.

- Provide a program activity, service or project that will be located primarily in the ACT
- Provide how the program will primarily benefit ACT residents
- Include all supporting documentation needed for the application.
