The Volunteer Centre East Lothian is seeking applications for its East Lothian Friendly Food Fund for community groups and organisations who are members of the network and wish to introduce or develop existing food support to tackle the cost-of-living crisis.
The food fund has been created to allow local groups operating to increase food provisions across East Lothian to tackle the cost-of-living crisis.
Funding Information
- Up to £3,000 for community groups.
What can it be Used For?
- The fund can be used to:
- Buy food and essentials to prop up existing provisions such as local pantry
- To purchase resources needed to improve and increase provisions
- To purchase equipment such as white goods to store food
- To work alongside a partner organisation to order meals
- Develop a new provision to tackle food insecurity
- Buy food to prepare hot/frozen meals
- Volunteer expenses and sessional staffing costs (this is additional hours – not core hours)
Eligibility Criteria
- All community groups and organisations may apply, but depending on what the grant is for, they require that the community group be a member of the East Lothian Friendly Food Network and be a constituted community group officially operating in East Lothian. When will a decision be made?
- A decision will be made within 14 days unless additional supporting information has been requested What can the fund not be used for?
- Proposals that do not benefit resident of East Lothian
- The repayment of debt or loans
- Costs already incurred
