The Kawartha Lakes City Council is inviting applications for its Arts, Culture and Heritage Recovery Fund which will serve as one-time recovery support payment to help cover the burden of fixed operating costs of cultural services during COVID-19.
The Kawartha Lakes recognizes there are a variety of local volunteer based not-for-profit organizations that contribute to the community’s economy and quality of life that are in need right now, including art galleries, museums and live theatre.
Funding Information
- To provide relief, Council has approved $100,000 for the Arts, Culture and Heritage Recovery Fund.
- Funding ranging from $1,000 to a maximum of $20,000 may be awarded to eligible applicants according to the funding formula based on the applicants total annual expenses related to fixed operating costs (less municipal financial support where applicable) in 2020.
Eligibility Criteria
- Is applicant organization a registered non-profit or charity in Kawartha Lakes?
- Has applicant organization received funding from Kawartha Lakes to cover COVID-19 expenses or financial shortfalls relating to 2020 fixed costs?
- Does applicant organization manage a heritage collection or facility?
- Does applicant organization provide public access through regular hours of operation (including full-time, seasonal or part-time) and is not solely membership based?
- Was applicant level of expenses related to fixed costs $2000 or more?
Application Criteria
- Please note that the application must be signed by a person that has legal authority to bind and to apply on behalf of the application organization. If applicant (the person completing the application) does not have legal authority, they must provide documentation indicating permission to submit on behalf of the applicant.
- The following attachments must be uploaded and included before application can be submitted:
- Proof of non-profit registration
- Signing authority
- 2020 Profit and Loss statement or audited financial statement
- EFT form and Void cheque
