The Queensland Community Foundation (QCF) is now accepting applications for its General Fund Program to support organisational capacity building of mid-tier organisations with projects that strengthen community through collaboration.
Organisations are encouraged to work with other like-minded organisations and charities who are delivering similar projects to support the community more efficiently.
Without limiting the meaning of capacity building as described, projects can include:
- education and training,
- impact assessment,
- market sounding,
- recruitment and recognition of volunteers,
- information technology support systems,
- planning and governance (strategic plans, constitution reviews or board appraisals_.
Funding Information
- Grants are available up to a maximum of $25,000 per individual grant. By submitting a joint application there is an opportunity to receive up to $60,000 per joint application.
The following will not be funded
- Projects that have already commenced or where your organisation has committed expenditure prior to the notification date.
- Event or conference sponsorship, prizes or award ceremonies
- General operating expenses – funding will not cover expenses such as salaries for existing staff, electricity, lease/rent payments, telephone, uniforms etc that are part of the organisation’s ongoing expenses
- Debt payment
- Motor vehicle purchase or maintenance
Eligibility Criteria

All organisations who apply must be:
- Queensland based, providing a service to local communities.
- Endorsed by the Australian Tax Office as Item 1 Deductible Gift Recipients (DGRs).
- Mid-tier (annual revenue up to a maximum of $10M per individual applicant).
