Interfaith America and Protect Democracy create opportunities for faith-based organizations to take meaningful action to protect the 2024 election. Designed with tools to help you address polarization, build cohesion in your community, share trustworthy information about voting processes and support, recruit poll workers and establish new polling places, you can find a way to meet the needs of your community no matter your worldview, identities, or location.
Grant Categories
- Organization Grants
- Grants are being offered to for religious, educational, and civic 501(c)(3) organizations to provide a stipend to an organizer (up to half), pay for materials, or cover costs for an event.
- The Organization Grant is $1,000 and will be paid in one installment.
- Network and Association Grants
- Grants are being offered to religious, educational, and civic 501(c)(3) associations with a network of partners, affiliates, or members to maximize impact through partnership.
- The Network and Association grant is $15,000 and will be paid in two installments.
Deliverables
- Organization Grants
- Organizations who receive these funds will commit to doing two (2) of the following:
- Recruit at least ten (10) people to sign up as poll workers.
- Find one (1) new polling location in their county.
- Recruit five (5) poll chaplains. Implement trustworthy information initiatives.
- Host one (1) meeting between local election officials and community leaders.
- Host at least three (3) bridge-building activities.
- Organizations who receive these funds will commit to doing two (2) of the following:
- Network and Association Grants
- These entities must commit to doing three (3) of the following:
- Recruit fifty (50) people to sign up as poll workers.
- Find one (1) new polling location throughout their network.
- Recruit ten (10) poll chaplains.
- Have at least ten (10) entities implement trustworthy information initiatives (see Playbook for examples).
- Host five (5) meetings between local election officials and leaders from the organization’s network.
- Host ten (10) bridge-building conversations.
- These entities must commit to doing three (3) of the following:

- Organization Grants
- This funding is reserved for religious, educational, and civic 501(c)(3) organizations. Individuals should apply on behalf of their organization. The grant may not be used for partisan political purposes, for the benefit of or opposition to any political party or candidate, or to lobby a political body on behalf of or in opposition to any legislation or other proposal that may come before that body.
- Network and Association Grants
- This funding is reserved for religious, educational, and civic 501(c)(3) associations with a network of partners, affiliates or members to achieve the grant requirements. The grant may not be used for partisan political purposes, for the benefit of or opposition to any political party or candidate, or to lobby a political body on behalf of or in opposition to any legislation or other proposal that may come before that body.
