The Quartet Community Foundation is pleased to announce the Cost of Living Social Action Small Grants with an aim to enable the development of support networks, online and in-person activities, and online and in-person Welcoming Spaces.
The Cost of Living Social Action Small Grant Programme is a fund from Bristol One City to support the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector to help mitigate the impact of the cost of living crisis.
Bristol City Council is working with the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE), partner agencies and Quartet Community Foundation to help communities to manage the impact of the cost of living crisis by funding the development of support networks, online and in person community led events / activities and online and in person Welcoming Spaces.
This One City fund aims to support activities in priority neighbourhoods (seea) by diverse and inclusive organisations that address the impact of the cost of living crisis. This funding is also available to support the setting up and/or development of Welcoming Spaces. The fund is looking to strengthen community links between people and encourage people to take action together in their neighbourhoods and communities, sharing their skills, knowledge and interests.It builds on the partnership working which was built up in the city in response to the Covid crisis.
What can you apply for?
- You can apply for a grant towards a new activity or continuing something you are already doing if it is helping to address the impact of the cost of living crisis. They cannot award a grant towards work that has already been undertaken. A grant can be towards any of the following:
- Resourcing events and outreach in the community
- Enabling indoor activities and / or creating or improving a physical Welcoming Space
- Creating and / or improving an online Welcoming Space
Funding Information
- There is a total of £500,000 to allocate to support social action commencing in Winter v2022/2023:
- They can award between £500 – £5,000 per application
- Duration: The award is granted for delivery within 12 months
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be based and working in Bristol. This means the Local Authority area of Bristol City Council. You can apply for a grant if you are a:
- Constituted voluntary or community organisation
- Registered charity
- Not-for-profit Company, including Community Interest Companies where most directors receive no payment from the company
Priority groups:
- They expect all activities and spaces to be welcoming, inclusive and non – stigmatising. Applications will be prioritised which deliver strong benefits to people identified as being more affected by the cost of living crisis:
- People / Households on low income (in the lowest 20% compared to national average)
- People claiming out of work benefits
- People from Black and minoritised communities
- Disabled people
- Single parents
- People in rented accommodation
- People living in properties with pre-payment meters
- Refugees and asylum seekers
- People experiencing homelessness
- Gypsy/Roma/Traveller group
