The Virgin Islands Council on the Arts (VICA) is accepting applications for its Annual Grants program.
Funding Categories
- General Operating Support: This category of support is designed to assist with general operating, artistic, technical, performance and administrative costs and is available to non-profit art organizations only.
- Project Support: Project Support is designed to assist with art programming.
- Arts in Education: The AIE program provides technical, financial and project support for education based, in and after school programs.
- Arts in Underserved Communities: This category of funding is designed to improve planning, presentation, professional development and collaborations for individual artists and new/emerging arts organizations.
- Technical Assistance: Funding in this category is available (on a very limited basis), to provide professional development for individual artists and non-profit arts organizations to assist with travel and/or registration to attend conferences and workshops; for management consulting and grant writing.
- Mini Grants: Mini grants provides assistance to individual artists and non-profit arts organizations for a wide assortment of art related activities. Funding decisions in this category are based on the artistic merit of the project and the applicant’s ability to carry out the project.
Funding Information
- General Operating Support: Not to exceed $15,000 per fiscal year.
- Project Support: Not to exceed $7,000 per fiscal year.
- Arts in Education: Not to exceed $5,000 per fiscal year.
- Arts in Underserved Communities: Not to exceed $5,000 per fiscal year.
- Technical Assistance: Not to exceed $2,500 per fiscal year.
- Mini Grants: Not to exceed $2,500 per fiscal year.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations
- Must be in existence and active in the V.I. for a minimum of two years at time of application
- The project must be V.I. based
- Must have current, non-profit status registered in the office of the Lt. Governor
- Must have an active Unique Entity ID registered on SAM.gov
- Must have a Tax Exemption Identification number
- Must have submitted Final Report if previously funded by VICA
- Program must display some level of artistic merit
Note: Organizations which have not received non-profit status (or are pending confirmation of non-profit status) may apply under an “umbrella” non-profit agency for a maximum of three years.
- Individual Artists
- Must be in residence and active in the V.I. for a minimum of two years at time of application
- Must provide a resume when applying for funding
- Must have an active DUNS number registered on SAM.gov
- If project is to take place in or on a school campus, a letter of endorsement from school Principal must be included in grant application
- Department of Education applications must be endorsed by the Insular Superintendent of applicant’s school district
- Must have submitted Final Report if previously funded
- Program must display some level of artistic merit
