The Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee Grant Program awards grants to nonprofits doing the work to advance equity for women (and girls) in Greater Milwaukee.
The Women’s Fund of Greater Milwaukee, a community foundation working to grow the endowment to ensure there are always resources available to strategically support initiatives to advance equity for women and girls.
The Fund believes that women and girls must:
- Have economic equality
- Be safe in their home, at work or wherever they are
- Hold positions of power and authority in the public and private sector
- Be able to control their own destiny
Principles
- Inclusion: Empowerment of women.
- Leadership: Develop and support women leaders.
- Equity: Economic, social and political equality in all women’s lives.
- Sustainability: Grow the endowment; maintain a responsible business structure that protects the assets and maximizes the use of funds.
Eligibility Criteria
You must:
- Have 501(c)3 status or a fiscal sponsor. No exceptions.
- Focus on advancing equity for women (and girls.)
- Encompass social change (and not service delivery or social services.)
- Do your work in the Greater Milwaukee area.
Limitations
- Endowments, debt reduction, fundraising events, scholarships, political campaigns, and programs that promote religious or sectarian activities.
- All grants are made to entities/organizations, not individuals.
