Blacktown City Sports Awards in Australia

The Blacktown City Council is now accepting applications for its Sports Awards.

Blacktown City is home to many keen sports enthusiasts. They recognise their sporting achievements with the Sportsperson of the Month Awards which are presented twice a year at a special presentation ceremony.

Categories

• The Sports Awards have been operating since 1983 and recognise the City's sports men, women, boys and girls in the following categories:
  • Sportsperson
  • Junior Sportsperson
  • Junior Sports Official
  • Senior Sports Official
  • Coach
  • Volunteer
  • Team
  • Club
  • Administrator
  • Mayoral Shield

Eligibility Criteria

Sportsperson

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years.
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Junior Sportsperson

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years.
• The nominee must be younger than 17 years of age as of 1 April 2021.
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Junior Sports Official

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years.
• The nominee must be younger than 17 years of age as of 1 April 2022.
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Senior Sports Official

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years.
• The nominee must be older than 17 years of age as of 1 April 2021.
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Coach

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City. 

Volunteer

• The nominee is not paid for their volunteering (Note: reimbursement of expenses does not constitute payment).
• The nominee is a  product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in the Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 years. 
• The nominee is a resident or a rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Team

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years.
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Club

• The nominee is a product of Blacktown City Sports System and has contributed or participated in Blacktown City sports for a minimum of 2 Years.
• The nominee is a resident of rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.

Administrator

• All nominees must meet the expectations of Sport NSW Code of Conduct.
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.

Mayoral Shield

• The nominee is not paid for their volunteering (Note: reimbursement of expenses does not constitute payment).
• The nominee is a resident or rate payer of Blacktown LGA.
• The nominee has coached, trained, participated and/or represented Blacktown City.
