U.S. Environmental Protection Agency: Transdisciplinary Research into Detecting and Controlling Lead in Drinking Water

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking applications for its grant program entitled “Transdisciplinary Research into Detecting and Controlling Lead in Drinking Water”.

EPA is issuing this call for research to foster projects to:

  • identify communities that are at a high risk of experiencing the adverse health effects of lead in drinking water;
  • identify opportunities to mitigate these risks; and
  • conduct educational and outreach efforts so that water system managers and the general public are aware of these risks and opportunities.

Funding Information

  • Anticipated Funding Amount: Approximately $3,963,000 total in federal funds for all awards
  • Potential Funding per Grant: Up to a total of $1,981,500 in federal funds, including direct and indirect costs, with a maximum duration of 3 years.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nonprofit organizations and public and private universities and colleges located in the United States.
  • Foreign entities, States, including the District of Columbia and State and local government departments, territories, possessions, and Tribal nations of the U.S., are not eligible to apply.
  • Profit-making firms are not eligible to receive assistance agreements from the EPA under this program.
