Applications Open for Women, Let’s Take Our Place!

Girls Action Foundation is currently inviting applicants to apply for the program entitled “Women, Let’s Take Our Place!”.

Girls Action will be working with 15 young women and non-binary youth who each have projects that they want to implement within their communities to turn their ideas into realities, so that they can each create positive change.

Girls Action Foundation is a non-profit organization that believes in the power of girls as agents of social change. Through their network of organizations across Canada, they lead, develop, and implement transformative programs that are adapted and relevant to the changing realities of girls’ and young women’s lives.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are eligible for the program Women, let’s take our place! If :

  • Applicants identify themselves as a young woman or as a non-binary youth, between the ages of 16 and 25 and if live in Canada
  • Applicants are motivated and have an idea for a project that they would like to create in their community but don’t know where to start
  • Applicant’s project is linked to civic engagement and addresses an issue that will lead to positive change in their community
  • Applicant’s  project provides opportunities to improve or acquire leadership skills
  • Please note that the foundation will prioritize applications from former participants in their young women’s programs.
  • People from marginalized communities, including but not limited to: indigenous people, differently-abled people, people of colour, queer and trans people, and people of low socioeconomic status are especially encouraged to apply. Please indicate if applicants consider themselves to be a member of a traditionally disadvantaged group and would like to be considered as such for the purpose of this selection process.
