Deadline: 31-May-2026
The Banyule City Council is now accepting applications for the 2025/2026 Facility Subsidy Grant, which supports the use of community facilities during the financial year from 19th July 2024 to 30th June 2025.
Applications will be open from July 2025 until May 2026, with a total grant pool of $15,375 available. The maximum subsidy per application is $1,100, and only one application per financial year is permitted, though multiple dates can be included within a single application.
The 2025/2026 funding round includes five categories: not-for-profit groups based in Banyule, not-for-profit groups located outside Banyule municipal borders, new and emerging not-for-profit groups or clubs based in Banyule, Banyule-based groups that do not receive formal funding, and regional, state, or national events.
To be eligible, applicants must be an incorporated association, an auspiced not-for-profit community group or educational facility, a public company limited by guarantee (not-for-profit), or a charity or benevolent trust. Organisations must have a formal structure with office bearers and a bank account, provide services or programs to Banyule residents (or ensure that at least 75% of participants are Banyule residents if located outside the municipality), have been operational for at least 12 months (except for new and emerging groups), and hold Public Liability Insurance up to $20,000,000 for the duration of the venue booking.
Certain applicants are not eligible for funding. This includes individuals, political organisations, and groups promoting or generating income through gambling, in line with the Gambling Harm Prevention Policy 2024–2028. Applications will also be considered ineligible if the group has outstanding grant acquittals, unresolved debts to Council, or seeks support from Councillors in the application process.
This grant provides a valuable opportunity for community groups and organisations to access financial assistance for venue hire, helping ensure that Banyule residents continue to benefit from well-supported, accessible local facilities.
