CADI Georgia: U.S. Poultry Meat Marketing Promotion Program

Comcast RISE: Marketing and Technology Services in the US

Deadline: 14-Nov-2025

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA/FAS) has announced a new funding opportunity under its Technical Agricultural Assistance Program aimed at strengthening U.S. poultry meat exports to the country of Georgia and the broader South Caucasus region.

This initiative, Coordinating Agricultural Development and Innovation (CADI) Georgia, seeks to enhance the knowledge and marketing capacity of Georgian importers and processors while fostering stronger business linkages between U.S. suppliers and Georgian firms.

Through this program, USDA/FAS will support the design and delivery of an intensive training program hosted in the United States for eight mid- to senior-level private sector participants from Georgia’s leading poultry importation and marketing companies. The training is envisioned to run for one to two consecutive weeks and must be completed before June 30, 2026. USDA/FAS will handle the recruitment and selection of the Georgian participants, while eligible U.S. institutions will be responsible for delivering a robust and practical training experience.

Georgia currently relies on imports for 72% of its poultry meat consumption, presenting significant opportunities for U.S. exporters. In 2024 alone, the U.S. supplied $12.6 million worth of poultry products to Georgia. While U.S. products enjoy a strong presence, they face competition from Brazil, China, and Ukraine, as well as challenges related to Georgian food safety requirements. This program aims to showcase the U.S. poultry industry’s high standards, reliability, and ability to meet Georgian quality expectations, ultimately increasing sales and expanding U.S. market share.

The training program will provide a comprehensive overview of the U.S. poultry industry from production to consumption. Participants will gain insights into processing, distribution, marketing, supply chain management, quality control, and compliance with both U.S. and Georgian food safety regulations. The program will also include business-to-business meetings and opportunities to engage with U.S. industry stakeholders, coordinated with the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) to build lasting commercial ties.

Eligible applicants for this funding are U.S.-based state cooperative institutions or other colleges and universities, and the total available federal funding for the program is $112,500. Through this initiative, USDA/FAS seeks to boost the global competitiveness of U.S. poultry products and support the development of sustainable trade partnerships with Georgia and its neighboring markets.
