The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is calling for proposals for Nutrition in ASALs Within Integrated Resilience Institutions (NAWIRI).

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is spearheading the Food and Market Systems with an aim of improving Household access to adequate, nutritious & safe food year-round. To realize this objective, GAIN invites applications from eligible small and medium food businesses (SMEs) registered in Kenya. Your business should demonstrate the capacity to deliver food products in the ASALs and present an innovative approach that brings affordable, diverse and nutritious foods and contribute towards the fight against malnutrition.

Nutrition in ASALs Within Integrated Resilience Institutions (NAWIRI) is 5-year Resilient Food Security Activity (RFSA) project that is funded by USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) implemented in the arid and semi-arid land (ASAL) counties of Isiolo and Marsabit in Kenya. NAWIRI is constituted by a consortium of core implementing partners, including Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Concern Worldwide, International Business and Technical Consultants Inc. (IBTCI), Manoff Group, Tuffs University and Village Enterprise working deliver a multisectoral package of services to support local institutions to sustainably reduce persistent acute malnutrition among vulnerable sub-populations in Isiolo and Marsabit counties.
