Call to Applications for Grants to Invest in Agricultural Infrastructure in Lebanon

Public Call for Grants for Marketing of Agri-food Products in BiH

Deadline: 30-Apr-21

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Green Plan, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Lebanon, and funded by the European Union, encourage vulnerable farmers from all Lebanese regions to apply for grants to invest in agricultural infrastructure.

This support programme falls under the framework of the national project “Enhancing resilient livelihoods and food security of host communities and Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon through the promotion of sustainable agricultural development”, implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, the World Food Program (WFP) and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project is funded by the European Union.

Goals Supporting this Initiative

The grants will support: agricultural land reclamation, construction of concrete or earth water reservoirs, in addition to other complementary works such as retaining walls, modern irrigation systems, fences, planting of fruit tree seedlings, and vineyard trellises. The grant will cover part of the total costs of the related investments.

Those interested in submitting applications to receive this financial support should fill out a “livelihood assessment form”. Based on this form, the most vulnerable 500 beneficiaries will be selected from all the applicants that fulfilled the Green Plan’s administrative and technical requirements. The selection will be based on multiple criteria such as household income, land surface area, age, gender, etc.
