Open Call for Research: AgriFutures Ginger Program (Australia)

The AgriFutures Australia is seeking research proposals for the AgriFutures Ginger Program to support a sustainable, growing and prosperous ginger industry supplying product of the highest quality that is strongly sought after by discerning consumers in Australia and around the world.

To ensure the Program goal is achieved, AgriFutures Australia is seeking research proposals to address key industry priorities including using technology to increase production efficiency and reduce labor inputs, developing options for the control of significant pests and diseases, and investigating new market opportunities.

AgriFutures Australia’s investments are driven by five-year RD&E Plans that address the needs of industries and stakeholders to ensure their priorities are industry demand driven. Their aim is to enhance the profitability and sustainability of their levied rural industries.

They also welcome and encourage your collaboration with other research providers to build the critical research mass necessary to meet their objectives.   

Priorities

Extension of all research investments to levy payers is a priority for the AgriFutures Ginger Program; all investments made by the Program are required to deliver both research and extension activities and outcomes. They encourage applicants to consider how they will consult and collaborate with the extension program, funded by the AgriFutures Ginger Program, to ensure a collaborative approach to extending the research is developed and included in the submission.
