The Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WDI) is seeking applications for the “Resilient Fisheries Governance 2021” Course under Orange Knowledge Programme.

Fisheries play a vital role in economies and contributes to food security and nutrition, but fish stocks are under threat globally due to ineffective management and poor conservation. Strengthened governance in the fisheries sector with involvement of the public, civil society and private sector is required to reduce pressure on the fish stocks and the aquatic habitat. In this course, you will gain insights and skills in governance processes involving stakeholders. You will boost your skills to help stakeholders learn together in building resilient fisheries communities.

Criteria

Applicants should have an academic degree (BSc or equivalent) in a discipline relevant to fisheries management and governance. At least three years of relevant professional experience in for example fisheries management or research, fisheries extension & training, development of coastal or inland fisheries communities or dealing with aquatic resource use issues. Proficiency in English are required.
