The National Arts Festival (NAF) Curated Programme is now open for applications.
The 2023 NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL will run from 22 June to 02 July 2023. The curated programme is constructed through an application and selection process, with the NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL’s Artistic Committee making selections against available resources. All artists are invited to consider submitting work for presentation at the 2023 NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL.

This cycle, the NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL Artistic Committee has formulated a list of thematic prompts which they are interested in seeing reflected in the 2023 Festival. You are invited to consider one or some of these when proposing works:
- Transnationality / Locality / Migration /
- Space / Land / Identity / Environment /
- Leadership / Governance / Systems / Networks /
- Reflection / Release / Rebirth /
- Transhumanism / Interspecific Approaches /
- Values / Cosmologies / Truth /
- Temporality / Sustainability / Legacy / Decay /
- Futuring / Testing Ground.
Duration: The 2023 NATIONAL ARTS FESTIVAL will run from 22 June to 02 July 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
Artist across all genres from South Africa and beyond are invited to submit their proposals.
