The City of Charles Sturt has announced the Community Event Fund to provide support for established, culturally significant community events that have demonstrated long-term value and are recognised in the City’s calendar.

The focus of the Community Event Fund is on supporting established events that have proven cultural significance, demonstrated long-term community value, and are recognised as part of the official City calendar.

Eligibility is limited to event organisers delivering public events within the boundaries of the City of Charles Sturt. Applicants must be a legal entity with an ABN and hold appropriate public liability insurance, as individuals or entities without an ABN are not eligible. Eligible applicants include individuals who reside in the City of Charles Sturt, property owners within the City, and community-based groups, organisations, and services operating in the area. Only events that have been well established and successfully running over several years will be considered.

The Community Event Fund offers applications of up to $10,000 per year, with funding available for up to five years. Funding will cover up to 50% of the total event budget, which can include both financial and in-kind contributions from the event organiser.

Applicants must provide supporting documents including an event concept, site plans, a risk management plan, and an event budget. All funding decisions are made by the Council. It is highly recommended that applicants discuss their applications with Council staff prior to submission.
