Deadline: 30-Sep-2025

The City of Charles Sturt has announced Event Grants to support competitive initiatives that spark creativity, social connection, and local pride, with a focus on seeding new ideas and nurturing emerging community-led events.

The focus of the Event Grants program is to encourage projects that foster creativity, build social connections, and generate a sense of local pride. These grants are designed to support new ideas and provide opportunities for emerging events led by the community.

Event organisers delivering public events within the boundaries of the City of Charles Sturt are eligible to apply. Applicants must be a legal entity with an ABN and have appropriate public liability insurance. Eligible applicants include individuals residing within the City of Charles Sturt, property owners in the city, as well as community-based groups, organisations, and services operating in the area.

The program allows applications for up to $15,000, with recommended amounts set at $2,000 for small events, $10,000 for medium events, and $15,000 for large events. Funding is available for up to five years, with reduced amounts in years four and five. Grants will cover up to 50% of the overall event budget, which can include both financial and in-kind contributions from the organiser.

Applicants are required to submit supporting documents, including an event concept, site plans, risk management plan, and event budget. All final funding decisions are made by the Council. Applicants are also strongly encouraged to discuss their submissions with Council staff prior to lodging their applications.
