Flourish: First Nations Fashion and Textiles Fund in Australia

Sex Worker Giving Circle Fellowship Program 2025

Deadline: 11-Nov-2025

The Flourish: First Nations Fashion and Textiles Fund offers grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 to support the growth and innovation of the First Nations fashion and textile design sector in Australia.

This funding opportunity is designed to strengthen creative, cultural, and professional capacity, fostering new collaborations, expanding businesses, and increasing digital visibility for First Nations designers, artists, and organisations, including Art Centres.

Grants can be used to support a broad range of activities, such as developing new textile designs, collaborating with designers to create collections, engaging experts to interpret artwork into fabrics, undertaking professional development, building marketing strategies, and expanding creative practices. They may also provide seed funding to launch new initiatives and support First Nations-led partnerships and mentoring programs that enhance the sector’s long-term sustainability.

Applicants must present a clear project proposal that outlines the objectives and expected impact of their initiative, showing how the funding will contribute to professional growth, sector innovation, and potential future opportunities. Activities supported by the fund must begin on or after 2 February 2026 and be completed within 12 months from their start date.

Flourish marks five years as a cornerstone of Creative Australia’s First Nations First industry development programs, created through extensive community consultation and aligned with the Australian Government’s Revive policy framework. These programs honour over 50 years of First Nations leadership in the arts while investing in new opportunities to elevate First Nations voices, designs, and businesses across Australia.

Eligible applicants include First Nations individuals and organisations who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, or organisations based in Australia that are First Nations-led. However, applicants must not have overdue reports or debts with Creative Australia, must not be receiving multi-year investment from the agency, and must ensure that all activities engaging with First Nations content follow Creative Australia’s Cultural & Intellectual Property Protocols.

By empowering First Nations designers and organisations with targeted support, the Flourish Fund aims to drive cultural expression, business growth, and creative excellence within Australia’s vibrant fashion and textile landscape.
