Nordic Cultural Contact launches Culture and Arts Programme

Solidarity Fund for Artists and Cultural Organizations in Africa

Deadline: 11-Sep-2025

Applications are open for the Culture and Arts Programme, which supports Nordic cooperation in the arts and culture. The programme funds projects across all areas of art and culture and in all project phases, including preparatory work, production, performance, and dissemination. Support is available for cultural and artistic productions, creative work, and projects that develop competence in the arts and culture sector. Funding can be used for any costs directly linked to the project, but activities already carried out are not eligible.

Projects may receive up to EUR 7,000 without other financing, up to EUR 40,000 with at least 30% co-financing, or up to EUR 100,000 with at least 50% co-financing. However, the programme does not fund tours of existing works, institutional operations, basic funding for recurring multi-year projects, solo productions without collaboration, film and television production, computer games, book publishing, educational projects, commercial activities, non-cultural projects such as sports events, projects that have already started before funding approval, or activities already implemented. Supported activities must begin no earlier than 10 weeks after the application deadline.

Anyone active in the cultural and artistic field can apply, provided the project meets the programme’s criteria and involves collaboration between partners from at least three countries, with at least two being Nordic countries. The Nordic region includes Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Åland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. Country affiliation is based on the registered addresses of partners rather than nationality, and applicants do not need to reside in the Nordic region if the project meets the Nordic partnership and content requirements.
