Deadline: 27-Oct-2025
The PRS Foundation is accepting applications for its PPL Momentum Accelerator Grant Programme to support the development of outstanding artists and bands who are writing their own music, and future Industry Professionals, outside London and who face additional barriers in reaching a crucial career tipping point based on their location.
PPL Momentum Accelerator’s long-term approach supports the development of these outstanding artists and bands outside London, with partners providing support for a number of future industry professionals such as managers, promoters, record labels, music publishers, booking agents, to bolster regional scenes across the UK.
In Liverpool City Region, the PPL Momentum Accelerator Fund is managed by PRS Foundation in partnership with Culture Liverpool and PPL, and funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Strategic Investment Fund.
Through this partnership, four PPL Momentum Accelerator artist grantees will receive support of £5,000 each, selected via an open call by a panel of independent expert advisors with one deadline per year. One full PPL Momentum Fund artist grantee will receive up to £15,000, selected through the standard PPL Momentum Fund process. Additionally, five PPL Momentum Accelerator ‘Future Industry Professional’ grantees will receive £1,000 worth of support, which may include micro-grants, mentoring, or other holistic support, selected in partnership with the Liverpool City Region Music Board.
In Tees Valley, the PPL Momentum Accelerator Fund is managed by PRS Foundation in partnership with PPL, Sonic Futures, Tees Valley Combined Authority, and the UK Government. Up to four PPL Momentum Accelerator artist grantees will receive support of up to £5,000 each, selected through an open call by a panel of independent expert advisors, with two deadlines per year.
Applicants should demonstrate regional progression and growth with potential to fast-track to national recognition within six months, supported by a clear plan. All activity must take place in the UK.
Industry professionals must show a growing track record of supporting music creators in Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, or Wales, while also facing barriers to progress. Applicants need to demonstrate funding or capacity-building needs alongside a plan for growth with PPL Momentum Accelerator support.
The scheme is not open to artists or bands outside Accelerator regions, those at the earliest career stages, or individuals previously awarded The PPL Momentum Fund, The Hitmaker Fund, or The Composers’ Fund. Funding can support activities such as recording and release, live performance or touring, broadcast or online content, promotion and marketing, creation of new music, fees for creative collaborators, education and training, commissioning, or equipment (up to 20% of the budget). Marketing or promotion support must be paired with creation or performance activity.
Additional support for Liverpool City Region ‘Future Industry Professionals’ includes up to £1,000 worth of mentoring, industry advice, micro-grants, and professional development, selected through a nomination process with Culture Liverpool and the City Region Music Board.
Tees Valley ‘Future Industry Professionals’ can also receive up to £1,000 in similar support, selected via the standard application process. Funding cannot be used for van or car purchases, international touring, rosters of artists, projects covered by label or management deals, capital projects, building studios, or salary and living costs.
The application deadline for PPL Momentum Accelerator is 27 October 2025.
