Deadline: 16-Sep-2025
Creative Australia is accepting applications for the Music Australia Export Development Fund, which offers matched funding of up to $15,000. The fund is aimed at supporting the international professional and artistic development of Australian music professionals and creatives.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Australian Government and the local music industry. It provides financial backing to a wide range of Australian artists at various stages of their international careers, from emerging to established acts.
Eligible applicants include Australian citizens or permanent residents who are practicing music professionals. This encompasses solo artists, bands, instrumentalists, DJ/producers, electronic artists, songwriters, composers, and producers. The fund supports individuals, groups, or organisations applying on behalf of their artists.
Applicants can request between $3,000 and $15,000, provided they can match or exceed the amount requested with their own investment. The funding covers activities such as co-writing sessions, songwriting camps, overseas recording expenses, international residencies or fellowships, attending international music events, and presenting lectures abroad. Self-managed artists must show proof of confirmed business meetings to be eligible.
The program is open to both new and previous applicants, although priority may be given to first-time recipients. First Nations creatives are especially encouraged to apply.
Applicants are not eligible if they have already applied in this round, have overdue grant reports, owe money to Creative Australia, or have submitted the same project to the Arts Projects grant rounds.
