RFAs: Career Springboard Berlin Grant Programme (Germany)

#grants_for_artists

Deadline: 01-Nov-2025

The Karrieresprungbrett Berlin funds projects and platforms – from concert and club series, workshops and talks to interdisciplinary formats – that support up-and-coming artists and other newcomers from the pop music business and help boost their careers on a national or international level.

The Musicboard defines pop music as all genres of popular music, including cross-genre or experimental forms that do not fit into jazz, classical, or new music. The Karrieresprungbrett Berlin funding programme supports projects that benefit the Berlin pop music scene and industry.

Eligible projects must have a total scope of at least 5,000 euros and would not take place, at least not at the required scale, without the funding. Only projects planned for 2026, not yet started, and completed within the same year are considered. It is open to artists whose lives or creative work are centered in Berlin and to persons or companies based in Berlin, regardless of their legal status.

The programme emphasizes diversity and inclusivity. Projects must ensure that at least 50 percent of participating artists are female, non-binary, or queer. They must also be designed to be at least 50 percent barrier-free. Certain projects are excluded. These include cultural education initiatives, stages for the Fête de la Musique, individual artist or band projects, ongoing projects, and those already funded by the state of Berlin.

Applications must be submitted using the designated application tool. Required documents include a completed application form, a detailed project description with programme planning, team information, and artist bios, information on the line-up with music samples, venue confirmations if available, and a specification of costs towards which the funding will be applied. Only fully completed applications will be considered. Applications are also rejected if applicants cannot ensure proper use of funds, especially if they have previously failed to meet reporting requirements, deadlines, or accounting standards.

The deadline for submitting applications is November 1. All information provided in the applications will be treated confidentially and used solely for decision-making and funding purposes, while certain relevant details may be published as part of the application process.
