RFPs: Market and Audience Development Grant (Singapore)

U.S. Mission to Vietnam: Public Diplomacy Section

Deadline: 15-Aug-2025

The National Arts Council is now accepting applications for its Market and Audience Development Grant. This grant aims to support individuals and organizations in their efforts to grow audiences, patrons, and supporters for artistic projects both in Singapore and internationally. It also acknowledges the important role of arts intermediaries, like galleries and publishers, in connecting artists with new markets.

The grant supports projects that directly benefit Singaporean artists by helping them reach new and wider audiences. It considers several factors when awarding funding, such as the merit and innovation of the proposal, its potential to raise awareness of the arts, the applicant’s ability to execute the project, and the reasonableness of the budget.

Each applicant may receive up to $70,000 per financial year. Eligible projects can include marketing and audience development initiatives like market research, branding, and audience engagement materials. International efforts such as touring, participation in festivals or trade fairs, and hosting international visitors are also supported.

Applicants can be individuals who are Singapore citizens or Permanent Residents, especially those who are self-employed and actively contribute to the local arts scene. Organizations may also apply if their core business is related to the arts and they are legally registered in Singapore. Projects with foreign collaborators are allowed if the lead applicant and at least half of the team are Singaporean or PR.

The grant does not support applications from organizations with religious objectives, or projects that have already started, lack a clear arts component, are held in religious venues, are not open to the public, or are mainly fundraising or academic in nature. Projects presented by schools or tied to curricula are also ineligible. Applicants with overdue reports or unpaid debts to the NAC must resolve those issues before reapplying.
