Deadline: 1-Mar-22
Pro Helvetia is offering artists and cultural practitioners an opportunity to develop and implement transdisciplinary approaches, to build national and international networks and to raise awareness for their artistic production.
Artists and cultural practitioners should have the opportunity to respond to current social transformations, even beyond disciplinary funding, to actively shape the associated developments and to engage with disciplines outside the arts in their artistic practice.
This support will enable them to work on a new project at the interface of artistic and non-artistic disciplines (such as biology, medicine, technology, sociology, anthropology, etc.). Both established arts and cultural practitioners and young talents are eligible to submit a project, provided they have a track record of artistic practice with cross-regional appeal.
The focus is on knowledge exchange and active collaboration between artists and cultural practitioners on the one hand and representatives of social or scientific fields (politics, ethnology, ecology, psychology, medicine, etc.) on the other.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pro Helvetia promotes the production and dissemination of transdisciplinary projects from Switzerland with a view to diversity as well as national and international reach. Such projects are also meant to enhance transdisciplinary knowledge exchange and to provide society with creative stimulus and access to critical thinking. At the same time, Pro Helvetia adopts various measures to promote greater diversity and equal opportunities in the cultural sector, is committed to raising the visibility of marginalised groups, and aims to provide sustainable support and guidance to initiatives and organisations in this field in Switzerland. As a national foundation, Pro Helvetia supports international cultural exchange and exchange between Switzerland’s various linguistic regions, and supplements the promotional activities of Switzerland’s cantons and cities.
- To be eligible for funding, projects must:
- have a clear connection to Switzerland
- be of nationwide importance
- be adequately co-funded by other public or private sponsors (including publishers/event organisers)
