Invest for Jobs is organising its first “Green SME Networking Festival” from July 27-29 in Accra to support green small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) towards the creation of green and decent jobs in Ghana.
About 100 eco-friendly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from various sectors will be selected to participate in the 3-day event scheduled in Accra. Other organisations expected to participate include market enablers, development organisations, financial institutions, investors and regulatory bodies.
The first of the festivals is scheduled to be held in Accra from July 27-29, with subsequent ones being held in Kumasi (August 17-19) and Tamale (September 28-30).
The 2022 Green SME Networking Festivals are being organized by the Special Initiative on Training and Job Creation (“Invest for Jobs”), an initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, among others.
Activities
Activities at the 3-day festival will include:
- Business games and workshops on various topics including circular economy
- Networking opportunities with other SMEs, investors, financial institutions and other partner organisations
- A business pitch competition – through which 10 winners will be granted technical and financial assistance towards the acquisition of certification with the Ghana Standards Authority and the Food and Drugs Authority
- Exhibition opportunity for participating SMEs to showcase their services and products.
Eligibility Criteria
You may apply, if
- You are a growth-oriented Ghanaian SME from the agri-business, textile & fashion or cosmetics sectors
- You are interested in eco-friendly manufacturing.
