Deadline: 29-Oct-2025
The European Commission has announced a new call for proposals to coordinate and support the network of National Competence Centres (NCCs) for High Performance Computing (HPC) through a single focal point at the European level. The goal is to strengthen the European HPC ecosystem by maximizing existing knowledge and expertise, improving coordination, and encouraging collaboration among all participating NCCs.
The proposed Coordination and Support Action will work to enhance sharing of best practices, applications, information, training, and knowledge across NCCs. The selected consortium will align its efforts with the coordinator of the AI Factories/AI Factories project and foster cooperation with other European initiatives, such as the EuroHPC Academy and the European Master for HPC.
Key responsibilities will include establishing a communications platform, facilitating dialogue, promoting initiative goals, and organizing events and workshops. The project will also identify successful tools, services, and training solutions from NCCs, and support the exchange of knowledge across the network. Matchmaking and service facilitation among initiatives will help address the specific needs of local and national communities.
The budget available for this topic is EUR 2,000,000. Expected outcomes include greater HPC adoption, especially by SMEs, increased training availability, and stronger collaboration between NCCs. The action will also improve visibility and integration with other European networks and ensure centralized access to NCC services through a shared platform.
Eligible applicants must be legal entities—either public or private—based in EU Member States, EEA countries, or other countries associated with the Digital Europe Programme.
