The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Pakistan is seeking proposals for the provision of services to conduct Hushe-Valley Innovation Challenge and Multistakeholder Conference.
Scope of Work
UNDP is seeking the services of a firm for conducting the Hushe-Valley Innovation Challenge and Multistakeholder conference. This will entail;
- Building the Challenge Eco-System
- T/GB Unit and ALC (Agirre Lehendakaria Center) to align its design support in accordance with the design principles of the Social Innovation Platform approach
- The firm will also strengthen the network and eco-system based on the prototypes/experiments developed in Huhse-Valley by UNDP Pakistan in 2021 and where possible include the on-going initiatives in the new programs Working with the Acc Lab and GB SDG Unit to identify, liaison and onboard the relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to relevant Government Departments, Universities, Startup Incubators and Local CSOs.
- Design and Launch of the Challenge
- In collaboration with Acc Lab and GB SDG Unit, finalize the themes/problem statements for the Challenge
- Design and manage the application methodology for the challenge (online and offline means)
- Prepare and implement comprehensive outreach and communication strategy to ensur e target audience will be reached
- Selecting the Finalists
- Develop a selection criteria in coordination with all stakeholders identified in building the eco-system, including relevant GB Government departments (Planning & Development)
- Prepare a longlist of applications
- Working with Acc Lab and SDG Unit to shortlist the finalists (Approximately 10 for ideation stage and 5 for scale up stage)
- Estab lish communication with the selected finalists
- Conduct Training Bootcamp & Transfer the Grants
- Develop training modules for both Ideation and Scale up stage participants in coordination with the Accelerator Lab and ALC
- Identify and onboard relevant mentors and trainers based on the modules developed and needs identified
- Conduct the bootcamps with the finalists
- On successful completion of the bootcamp by the participants, transfer the implementation grants. (The amount of each grant will be PKR 70,000 for Ideation Stage and PKR 200,000 grant for each idea in scale up stage)
- Conduct Regular Monitoring/Reporting of the finalists/initiatives
- Implementing partner in close coordination with Acc Lab and SDG Unit will ensure regular monitoring of the Ideation and Scale Up stage project according to the finalized workplan with regular meetings
- Develop Communication Material for the initiatives, including but not limited to human stories, exposure stories, blogs and testimonials.
- Conduct a Multi-Stakeholder Conference
- With support of Acc Lab and SDG Unit, the implementing partner will organize a conference in Gilgit where grants will be awarded after detailed presentation of the selected projects.
- The conference will be attended by key officials from the private sector and both the Federal and Provincial Governments and will showcase these key initiatives of the UNDP CO in GB and to sensitize stakeholders on these innovative models for development financing and innovative entrepreneurship. These include the 1) SDGs Portfolio 2) SIP Approach and 3) SDG Investments. Key objectives of the conference are:
- Present ‘SDG investments portfolio for GB’ to the Government of GB and private investors – This stems from the ongoing work on investments project development facility launch
- Present UNDP’s SDG investor Map on common investment themes and potential lenders to finance development projects and look into the private investment angle.
- Present learning from Hushe Valley protypes (demonstrate Hushe Valley and pave a way to seek future replications) Present selected projects from the innovation challenge cup (ideation and scale up) and their potential contribution for accelerating progress on SDGs in GB.
- The expected duration of work for this assignment is nine (9) months effective from the date of signing of the contract.
Location
Location of work this assignment is based in Gilgit-Baltistan and the firm is expected to travel to Baltistan region and Hushe valley.
Criteria
- Technical and financial proposals should be submitted in separate PDF files and the financial proposal must be password protected.
- Firm is legally registered entity. Copy of Certificate of Registration of the Business, including Articles of Incorporation, or equivalent document if Proposer is not a corporation/ or SECP Registration
- Copy of NTN/STRN of business as evidence of registration.
- Profile of the company/firm along with details of employees, CVs of key professionals, and available facilities/expertise. The profile must show relevant experience in conducting innovation challenge.
- An affidavit on stamp paper that the company/firm has never been blacklisted by any institution/department/agency and that it has not been involved in litigation with any of its clients
