UNDP in Moldova has launched a project “Development of export potential on the banks of the Dniester” (AdTrade), funded by Sweden that will support the creation or development of small business on both banks of the Dniester. Support will be provided to the Agency Innovation and Development and European Business Association.
The competition is open to entrepreneurs from the Transnistrian region and the security zone, novice or experienced business people with innovative ideas and adapted by Mr. bubbled to the current needs of the market. The priority will be women entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs who employ socially vulnerable people.
Twenty beginners and experienced entrepreneurs can receive assistance for this purpose for the purchase of goods and services in the amount of up to $ 15,000 for the selected offer. Entrepreneurs will also receive individual mentoring and business advice for two years, and they will have the opportunity to attend free thematic seminars. The assistance provided will help entrepreneurs from both banks of the Dniester River deal more effectively with new challenges and overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic
Project ideas that meet the following criteria are allowed for the competition acceptability:
- Legal entities and potential entrepreneurs from both banks take on self responsibility to register a micro, small or medium-sized enterprise or other legal form of entrepreneurial activity in within 30 days from the announcement of the results of the competition. Economic agents from the left bank producing products with export potential will begin entrepreneurial activity on the right bank on the basis of continuous or temporary registration within 6 months from the date of signing the agreement;
- Will be implemented by micro, small or medium enterprises or other legal forms of entrepreneurship on the left bank or insettlements located in the security zone or controlled
- Provide a contribution of at least 10% of the project cost, indicating sources of financing (own financial resources); Chisinau on the left bank;
- Create at least 3 permanent jobs, or equivalent to partial employment especially for people from vulnerable groups, women and recently returned migrants (on the right or left bank) or jobs saved as a result of COVID-19.
Evaluation Criteria
- Businesses run by women or migrants returning in the context of a pandemic. Priority will be given to business led Innovative business ideas that include new concepts, technologies or innovative business management models, reduction of energy consumption (receiving green energy), wide use of information technology or entrepreneurial activities in the field of information technology, reorganization enterprises, identifying new niches, adapting production to new market needs in the context of COVID-19 by women.
- Quality and long-term perspective of the proposed business plan. Business competitiveness, relevance of the selected market niches, business sustainability and potential growth in the context of COVID-19.
- The impact of business on the local community through employment activities of vulnerable groups, including women and returnees grants.
- At least 3 permanent jobs created or saved in the result of COVID-19, the creation of 3 part-time jobs -10 b., Or 6 part-time jobs – 20 b.
- Potential for the implementation of the project by the applicant – previous and current applicant’s achievements reflected in the application (project proposal) and supported by a description of experience and development potential.
- Design offers, formulated companies-exporters or companies that have ready for export product / service. Collaboration with partners from the opposite.
