Human Rights Day is celebrated on 10 December every year across the world. This day is observed since 1948, when the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
This year, Human Rights Day calls on everyone to stand up for someone’s rights! Many of us are fearful about the way the world is heading. Disrespect for basic human rights continues to be wide-spread in all parts of the globe.
The idea of human rights suggests that “if the public discourse of peacetime global society can be said to have a common moral language, it is that of human rights.”
