Applications are open for The Arab British Centre Award for Culture 2019 which is a biennial prize that celebrates those who have significantly contributed to the dissemination of Arab arts and culture and furthered dialogue and understanding of the Arab world in the United Kingdom.
The prize was established in 2008 for the purpose of raising awareness of contemporary Arab culture in the UK and to give financial support to individuals and organisations at a crucial stage of their career.

- £(and their families) of The Arab British Centre, resident and associate resident organisations of The Arab British Centre and previous winners of The Arab British Centre Award for Culture and Society and The Arab British Centre Award for Culture.
- The entrant(s) must be aged 18 or over. Proof of identity and age may be required.
- Use of a false name or address will result in disqualification.
- Entries that are, illegible, indecipherable, incomplete or false, will not be valid and deemed void. Entries submitted after midnight on 19 May will not be considered.
- All entries must be made directly by the person entering the competition.
Judging Criteria
- The judging panel will consider the following criteria when selecting the winner for the AWARD FOR CULTURE 2019:
- EDUCATION Has the individual’s work made a constructive contribution to British understanding of Arab culture?
- QUALITY Is the individual’s work be considered original, insightful and honest?
- IMPACT What is the impact of the individual’s work on British audiences?
- CAREER DEVELOPMENT What effect would winning the Award have on the individual?
