The Local Governments of Nanjo, Ie, and Tokashiki in Okinawa, Japan through the Japan Information and Cultural Center (JICC) of the Japanese Embassy in Manila, and in partnership with the National Youth Commission, are implementing the 2017 Asian Youth Development and Network Building Program, which aims to promote the Okinawa prefecture and its development especially in relation to environment, history, and culture. Participants will take part in environment-related activitiesincluding field trips, lectures by prominent speakers, as well as discussions.
The program is scheduled on August 4-20, 2017 (including travel time). NYC will be nominating 2 High School Students.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications of Student Delegates:
- Filipino citizen, single,15 – 18 years old
- Junior or Senior High School students
- Philippine passport holders (valid until March 2018)
- Mentally and physical fit to travel
- Can communicate in English
- Be able to attend the pre-departure briefing (tentative date: August 3, 2017) at the NYC head office and the program proper on August 4-20, 2017
Requirements:
- Accomplished NYC Application Form
- Accomplished AYDP Application Form
- An essay (not less than 500 words) about how being part of the program will help the applicant’s studies or future career path
- Copy of Official School Registration Form
- Copy of School ID
- Copy of valid passport
