The project’s focus areas include Food Security and Cash Assistance, designed to ensure that crisis-affected populations have access to essential resources and are supported through sustainable safety net mechanisms.
The SANAD Emergency Crises Response aims to deliver cash-based transfers to beneficiaries in Khartoum, ensuring that all targeted individuals safely receive full assistance for a duration of 12 months. The initiative also emphasizes strengthening resilience and enhancing local systems to sustain safety nets in the long term.
This effort reflects WFP’s commitment to improving food security and social protection systems in Sudan amid ongoing economic and humanitarian challenges. By leveraging cash-based assistance, the project seeks to empower local markets, promote household stability, and build community capacity to withstand future shocks.
Organizations expressing interest are expected to demonstrate their capacity to manage cash assistance programs effectively, ensuring accountability, inclusivity, and transparency throughout implementation. Partnerships will play a critical role in ensuring that the intended outcomes—improved food security and strengthened community resilience—are achieved.
