Inter-American Development Bank: Inviting Artists to Demonstrate the Immense Artistic Creativity

Open Call for African Artists AU20 “Our Africa, Our Future” Artists Residency Programme

Deadline: 7 January 2018

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is currently inviting artists who want to offer new perspectives on the development challenges of the region, as well as to demonstrate the immense artistic creativity of Latin America and the Caribbean.

This open call is for artists who want to provoke, innovate, and offer new perspectives on the Region’s development challenges as well as demonstrate the immense artistic creativity of the Americas. While an individual piece may only respond to a specific challenge, together the entire installation aims to capture the essence of the social role of art in the Americas, today. The goal is to have a conversation on significant challenges while not professing any specific political viewpoint or agenda.

This call invites emerging and mid-career artists from all of the IDB member countries in the Americas to submit art proposals that reflect upon one of the following development challenges that affect the Region: diversity and inclusion, innovation, economic growth and globalization, gender equality, environmental sustainability, and justice.
