Recently, the World Refugee Day (June 20) was marked by the UN to highlight the challenges and difficulties faced by displaced families around the world.

The #WithRefugees petition was launched by the UN to send a message to governments that they must work together and do their fair share for refugees.

According to UNHCR, there are more than 65 million people around the world who have been forced from home. It is estimated that nearly 34,000 people are forcibly displaced every day due to conflict or persecution.

The top three countries sending refugees are Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia and 39% of the world’s displaced are from the Middle and North Africa.

The recent European migrant crisis highlights not only the displacement issues of refugees but also the rise of new cultural conflicts due to the ongoing conflict between migrants and host communities.
