The programme will focus on empowering women and youth in Sawla Tuna Kalba Municipality and Tempane District, located in Ghana’s Savannah and Upper East regions, where communities face heightened risks from violent extremism, trafficking, and economic marginalization. Through capacity building, mentorship, and tailored livelihood support, the initiative seeks to provide economic alternatives that reduce vulnerabilities and foster peace.

A critical aspect of the programme is its emphasis on localized value chains and market-driven livelihood interventions. By equipping women and young people with practical business skills, including financial management, entrepreneurship, and marketing, the facility aims to strengthen their socio-economic foundations while ensuring long-term sustainability. Beneficiaries will also receive assets and training designed to match emerging market demands, helping to establish viable enterprises and cooperatives.

The grant further promotes inclusive community engagement, requiring civil society organizations and community-based groups to design interventions that reflect accountability, transparency, and alignment with local needs. At least 60 percent of beneficiaries are expected to be women, ensuring their active participation in socio-economic development and peacebuilding efforts.

Eligible organizations must demonstrate proven experience in community-level interventions, youth and women-focused initiatives, and partnerships with local institutions. Successful applicants can receive grants of up to USD 95,000, with projects to be completed by February 2026.
